This shop has been working with Fileworks for several years now. The donations of books that we have received from Fileworks have been of great value to us. We estimate that over time the value of these donations has exceeded £20,000.

The books that we have received have tended to be non-fiction and academic works. This is ideal for us as our shop can fetch premium prices for these types of books. Our volunteer team check the books carefully and use internet resources to ensure that we get a fair price for them. The average sale price of each book we receive from Fileworks is around £7. However, in some cases we have raised over £100 for the sale of one book.

We have a courier firm that collects donations so quantity is not an issue for us. Books that we cannot sell are sent to other Oxfam Bookshops across London.

The money that is raised from the sales of these books goes directly to Oxfam to be spent on the wide variety of projects overseas.

We are enormously grateful to Fileworks and the Financial times for the generosity you have shown to us which has resulted in lots of happy customers and a really significant increase in the money we have raised in this shop.
